What you'll do

You will visit a local community for a direct and personal experience, allowing you to discover the authentic cultural practices, norms, and beliefs of the Ugandan people. At the end of your interaction with the community, you will plant a tree—not only as a gesture of contribution to the community but also as a way to help preserve this beautiful ecosystem. The activity includes: interacting with the locals as they go about their daily activities, a hands-on experience of harvesting fresh food and vegetables from the garden, preparing dishes in a traditional manner, discovering ancient musical instruments of courtesy, learning how to harvest honey with a tasting of fresh honey, making traditional wine, crafting clothing from bark, a walk through the forest, playing local games like netball, football, and the board game omweso, enjoying educational and informative storytelling filled with fun, and finally, tasting traditional dishes as well as an all-you-can-eat buffet of fresh fruits.
